NAME Folium
DESIGN AREAS Product Design
DESCRIPTION The folium collection is a series of plates and trays poetically imagined to recreate the fallen leaves of the high trees in the Venezuelan rainforests.
Their shapes play with tropical sinuosity while by function, they are intended for a dual purpose: to present the foods and, when turned upside down, to hold liquids inside their canals and cavities. In this way, each piece depicts the shapes of a valley and a mountain, one on each side.
To guarantee the distinctiveness of the final product, Rodolfo Agrella personally intervened in the confection of each item. He also employed state-of-the-art resources to ensure that every porcelain piece preserved its lucent white color and was appropriately classified using a numerical code system.
TECHNICAL FEATURES Folium showcases three formal types of tableware of varying size, ranging from 11.8 to 16.5 inches long and 4.7 to 6.7 inches wide. This limited-edition service set comprises only 110 pieces; each finely crafted with the most exquisite porcelain, intricately processed through the "lost mold" method, making each piece on this utilitarian product a collector’s item.
